About Me:

Patrick Hansen Portrait

I am an artist of many forms and mediums from painting, design, writing to music. I also consider skateboarding and snowboarding physical forms of art, and I kick it with some martial arts too. (insert "LOL" here... or not)

Design (and a bit o' Development)

I have spent over a decade within the design industry, from starting out as an illustrator and graphic designer, to multi-media production consisting of motion, video and audio.

I currently focus on User Experience / User Interface Design, Interaction Architecture as a UX Architect with: , where we explore, design and develop for various technologies and platforms from web, desktop, mobile and multi-touch.

Aside from designing, I enjoy diving into some code here and there too, I like to make my designs come to life and sometimes, I'm not patient enough to find a developer to do it for me. I also have been aiming on not only closing the gap between design and development, but simply removing the gap all together.

Art

I work with a variety of mediums from pencil, acrylics, oils, watercolor, printing, photography to aerosols. I also have never been one to be restricted to a certain style, so I choose to paint in whatever style suits my mood and subject at the time. Art is a very expressive forum, so I'd like to keep it open and provoke emotions with a wide array of styles. I may feel like throwing down a realisitc portrait of a royal figure, or some minimalistic-modern red splatter on an over-sized white canvas, you never know.

Music

I love music and have been playing guitar since I was about 12. In the past 8 years or so, I have been working with audio production, writing and MC'ing with a hip hop/rock/blues influence. I have also been on the tables for a few years now, honing my DJ skills.

I enjoy a variety of genres, from blues, jazz, rock, classical, electronic, and of course hip hop. As long as it sounds good, I probably listen to it.

Physical

I have been in the skate scene since my early Hosoi Hammerhead. Still get out there between all of the other things I do, and always will. I used to roll with the old VX1000 also, filming many talented skaters around Denver and Seattle.

I took up snowboarding in late junior high and pursued it competitively until I got injured and then went to art school. Still do it avidly and whenever it dumps and will until there are no more mountains or snow.

Have always been fascinated with martial arts and have studied Shao Lin Kung Fu/Tai Chi for a several years along with some informal training in other disciplines along the way. Now I'm pursuing some other styles such as Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. - Denver Jiu Jitsu
