Just saw People under the Stairs last night at The Marquis. It turned out to be a great show! They def know how to make a live performance go off. Very interactive with the crowd, mad energy on stage, and the beats & rhymes to throw it all together. By the end of their set, the ladies were on stage dancing away.
The People Under the stairs – denver
The vocals could have been a little louder, but the overall sound was pretty decent. If they’re rolling through your town, you should hit that show up!

We would like to thank everyone who attended this show and who performed: S.T.O.I.C., Isolated Generation, Apex Vibe, Kollage (us), and U.S. Pipes. We would really like to also thank Cate for setting up the benefit show!
The event made enough money to build an Eco-Lodge in Rwanda. These Eco-Lodges are used when tourist need a place to stay for the night on a budget. They accommodate the traveler well, and the amount to stay in one of these, raises enough money to send an orphan to school for a year.
This turned out to be a great event for all. The variety of music, the raffles, and money raised.
PBR and Akomplice clothing were sponsors of this event, so thanks for their support!

This should turn out to be an awesome show. These talented musicians always bring it, be it their album or live on stage. I must emphasize how much I love hip hop with a live band, especially the drumming talents of Quest Love, who lays the solid backbone of The Roots jazzy beats, with that down home hip hop punch and style.

Our boys with the local Denver Indie/Rock group The Epilogues have invited us to perform with them on Easter Sunday. This should be a pretty dynamic show with both their style and our Hip Hop combining into a pretty entertaining Easter Sunday. Come on down to Illegal Pete’s on 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver. Aside form the Live Music, there will be some cheap-ass drink specials too.

Well, we’re going to try to get some music kicking up at CRAVE lounge again. Our boy ADDVERSE is getting KOSHA DILLZ down here! He’ll be headlining, DOPESEX and S.T.O.I.C.will be opening. DJ ADDVERSE and possibly myself (artistIQ), will be spinning the 1′s, 2′s and maybe 3′s in between sets. KOLLAGE may throw down, but Material is about to have his first child! It all depends on how busy he’ll be with the baby before we can determine if we will be performing that night or not.
Either way, there will be mad hip hop going on, good drinks, upstairs with the plexi-glass floor and all of that! Come down, oh yeah, one more thing… IT’s FREE!

This is not news by any means, it has been going on in Denver for a few years now. For those who are not familiar with Denver and the scene though, there is a day fulfilled with art and events… It is 1st Friday.
The first Friday of every month, several art galleries, retail stores, bars & restaurants participate in a citywide art show. It started out in the smaller art district off Sante fe (between 6th and 8th’ish). It has now grown and expanded throughout downtown, LoDo area, Broadway, and even Cherry Creek. You will see a variety of artists on display from local to international. This is an amazing event and you can usually find a gallery going on to suit any of your taste and style of art.
How great is it to go around a town and just cruise in and out of art galleries admiring the beautiful talent and work. You do not have to feel pressured in paying fees (most are free), no worry about dressing up all crazy to “impress” the art snobs, and if you like drinking, then most offer a small array of beverages for donations (since most do not have a liquor license). I highly recommend hitting this night up. It does happen all year long, check your local galleries for details though.
One of my favorites to visit is The 400
Not only do they always feature great artists here, they are also one of the leading shoe boutiques in town. You can find everything from limited edition series to one-off custom painted shoes. they have two locations now, they usually hold the art show at their 11th & Bannock location. You can also catch where their after party is held after the event to finish up the night.
Other mentionable places:
• Ditto Gallery
• Art District of Sante Fe
• Indy Ink
